I didn't get my seed phrase from ArDrive. Can I still use it to log in?

• If you have a seed phrase from another Arweave-compatible wallet, such as Wander, you can use it to log in to ArDrive.

Can I get a seed phrase for my existing wallet?

• No. If you did not save your seed phrase when the wallet was created, it cannot be generated or recovered later.

What is a seed phrase?

• A seed phrase is a set of random words generated when you create a wallet. You can use it to log in or as a backup to regain access to your account.

What do I do if I lose my seed phrase?

• You can still log in if you have your keyfile. If you lose both your seed phrase and keyfile, your wallet cannot be recovered. Keep your seed phrase in a safe place.

How do I keep my seed phrase safe?

• Write it down on paper and store it securely, or save it in a password manager.

Is logging in with a seed phrase safe?

• Yes. Always verify you are on ardrive.io or one of the official ArDrive dapps before entering your seed phrase so you do not share it with another site or app.

Why is my wallet generated every time I log in with a seed phrase?

• Your seed phrase identifies and regenerates your wallet each time you log in to ArDrive. Your wallet is required to access your drives, upload and sign transactions, and check your balance.

What format does my seed phrase need to be in to log into ArDrive?

• Enter the 12 words in the order they were given to you, separated by spaces.

Can I use my ArDrive-generated wallet in Wander?

• Yes. A wallet generated by ArDrive works with other apps in the permaweb ecosystem, including Wander.
