Attach A Drive — Help

Attach Drives is the way to receive a Public or Private Drive that has been shared with you. There is no cost to attach a Drive to your account or download any files from that Drive.

Use a Drive Link to attach a Drive

The easiest way to attach a Drive to your account is to simply click on a Drive link that has been given to you. Drives are automatically attached if they are accessed via a Drive Sharing link.

Once you click on the link (and login to ArDrive, if needed) your new Drive will appear under a ‘Shared Drives’ heading in the left side menu.

Use the new button to attach a Drive

If you have the 36-character Drive ID, you can also use the +NEW button to attach a Drive.

Go to the control center of ArDrive and click the +NEW button.

Four options will appear including ‘Attach Drive’.

Click on Attach Drive and a popup box will appear at the center of your screen.

The pop up will have a place for you to put your 36-character Drive ID that your friend shared with you and a box that allows you to name the Drive. You can choose any name you wish for this Drive. It doesn’t have to be the same name that the original creator used.

Once you press ‘attach’ the Drive will appear under a ‘Shared Drives’ heading in the left side menu.
